Logging in to the app

Sign in to the PatrolSync Guard app and start scanning.

Once the PatrolSync Guard app is installed, signing in is straightforward. Guards scan the site QR code, find their name in the dropdown, and enter their PIN. Three steps and you are ready to patrol.

Before you log in
Check these before opening the app.
The PatrolSync Guard app must be installed on your phone
Your manager must have added you as a guard in the portal first
You will need the site login QR code — your manager will provide this
You will need your PIN — automatically generated and sent to you by text when your account is created
Camera and location permissions must be enabled for the app to work
Login steps

Three steps to sign in and start patrolling.

The login screen is simple. Scan the site QR code, find your name, and enter your PIN. That is all there is to it.

1

Scan the site QR code

Open the PatrolSync Guard app and use the camera to scan the site login QR code. Your manager will have provided this — it may be printed and displayed at the site, or shared with you directly. Scanning it loads the correct site and the guard list for that location.

2

Find your name in the dropdown

Once the site loads, a dropdown list of guards assigned to that site will appear. Tap your name to select it. If your name is not in the list, contact your manager — you may not be assigned to that site yet.

3

Type your PIN

Enter your PIN and tap to confirm. Your PIN is automatically generated when your account is created and sent to your phone by text. Once entered correctly, you are signed in and ready to start recording your patrol.

Troubleshooting

Having trouble signing in?

Most login issues come down to incorrect credentials or missing account setup. Check the points below before contacting your manager.

If your name is not in the dropdown, you may not be assigned to that site — contact your manager to check
PINs are numbers only — if yours is not working, your manager can resend it from the portal
If you have not received your PIN by text, ask your manager to resend it from the portal
If the site login QR code is not working, ask your manager to reprint or reshare it — it is generated from the portal
Make sure you have an internet connection — the app needs to connect when signing in
If the app crashes on opening, try restarting your phone and opening it again
Managers: if a guard cannot log in, go to the Guards section in the portal and check their account is active
