Printer setup on Windows

Set up your Brother label printer on Windows for consistent checkpoint printing.

A clean Windows printer setup makes PatrolSync checkpoint printing more reliable and easier to repeat across future sites. The goal is simple: correct page size, no scaling, and sharp QR output every time.

Setup steps

Create a Windows printing setup you can repeat across every site.

Once your Windows printer settings are configured properly, printing new checkpoints becomes fast and consistent. Keep the process simple and use the same settings every time.

1. Install the Brother printer driver

Install the recommended Brother printer driver for your model on Windows before trying to print PatrolSync checkpoints. This helps make page sizing and output more consistent.

2. Add the printer in Windows

Open your Windows printer settings, add the Brother printer, and confirm it appears as a normal printer before moving on to page size and print preferences.

3. Set the page size to 62 × 62 mm

Create or select a 62 × 62 mm page size in your printer preferences so PatrolSync checkpoints print at the correct size. Avoid automatic page sizing.

4. Turn scaling off

Make sure scaling is disabled before printing. PatrolSync checkpoints should print at their intended size without fitting, shrinking, or stretching.

Common issues on Windows

Most checkpoint print problems come from page size, print preferences, or scaling.

If a PatrolSync checkpoint does not look right when printed from Windows, start by checking the page size and print preferences. In most cases, the problem begins there.

QR code prints too small → Check scaling is turned off
Checkpoint is clipped → Check the page size is set to 62 × 62 mm
Output looks inconsistent → Confirm the same print preferences are being used each time
Printing feels unreliable → Reprint using the correct page size and a tested setup
