PatrolSync is designed to stay simple for guards in the field. This page covers the most common issues during login, scanning, connectivity, and GPS so problems can be resolved quickly without interrupting a shift more than necessary.
Quick Fix
I cannot log in
- Scan the correct site login QR code
- Check your Guard ID and PIN
- Wait if you have been temporarily locked out
- Contact your supervisor if unsure
QR codes are not scanning during patrol
- Clean your camera lens
- Move to better lighting
- Hold the phone steady
- Check camera permissions are enabled
- Ensure the QR label is not damaged
My scans are not showing
- Check your internet connection
- Scans may upload later if offline
- Your scans may still be recorded even if signal is poor
- Wait a moment for syncing
- Ensure the scan was confirmed before moving on
GPS is missing or inaccurate
- Enable location permissions
- Use precise location if available
- Indoor areas may reduce GPS accuracy
- Large metal buildings can affect signal
- PatrolSync still records patrol activity even if GPS is weak
Connection problems
- Check signal strength
- Move to an area with better coverage
- App may continue working offline temporarily
- Avoid repeatedly closing and reopening the app
